This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and proactive Project Manager to join the new Estates Team of the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner West Mercia Police.

The main purpose of the role is to undertake project management, including establishment of project aims and objectives, financial management and construction of Estates Projects across West Mercia Police and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.

To be responsible for all key stakeholder engagement, and ensure project objectives are tested through benefits realisation process, to aid the departmental and organisational delivery of key operational and strategic projects.

Actively support the Head of Projects with the delivery of revenue and capital projects to ensure completion in accordance with statutory and regulatory deadlines and Business Plan.

You will be responsible for demonstrating value for money investment on all projects by ensuring the client commercial and procurement processes are adhered to and will interface with West Mercia Estates asset management, asset strategy and operations teams to ensure that the West Mercia Police and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.

Experience of delivering projects within the property and construction sector is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate and provide evidence of;

Higher BTEC (or equivalent) in Construction or evidence of accreditation obtained through work based Continuous Professional development with substantial experience of Client Project Management duties.  i.e.  CIOB, RICS

Qualified up to a degree level, or equivalent experience in project management

Demonstrable, solid understanding of project management processes, theory and practice

Experience of procurement processes and procedures in regard to construction projects

Working with varied client base and negotiating difference to meet organisational requirements

Good communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills

An ability to work as part of a team

Proven ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and be able to work unsupervised

Supervising of contractors, suppliers and professional services
