Although this list is far from exhaustive, below are some of the PCC’s key partners. Please visit the grants page to see details of more of the organisations the Commissioner works with via his grants scheme.
In Worcestershire, there are also local councils for: Malvern Hills, Wychavon, Worcester City, Wyre Forest, Bromsgrove and Redditch. There are also hundreds more town and parish councils at a local level. Many of these belong to county associations in Shropshire, Herefordshire or Worcestershire.
Local councils are also involved in West Mercia’s various community safety partnerships. These are located in South Worcestershire, North Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin. The Commissioner has a statutory duty to co-operate with local authorities and have regard of each others priorities when it comes to reducing and preventing crime and disorder. The PCC also has a monitoring function for the partnership’s work. Since April 2013, all government funding previously awarded to partnerships has been reallocated to the Commissioner for him to determine how it should be spent.
