The West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner is making a commitment to advance equal opportunities for all, as the Race Action Plan is published today by the NPCC and College of Policing.

PCC John Campion said “I made a commitment in my Safer West Mercia plan to ensure all individuals and communities are dealt with fairly, equally and respectfully. I am delivering on this commitment by holding the force to account, engaging with diverse communities and ensuring victim services are accessible for all.

Disparities and inequalities still exist in our communities and in policing. We know that confidence in the police is low in black communities and I am working with our communities and the force to challenge and change this.

We still have a long way to go but listening to the voices of black communities, we can advance equal opportunities for all.”
