The West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner’s grants scheme was first introduced in 2013 and since then has served to support West Mercia’s communities. The open schemes are detailed below.

PCC John Campion will be holding an Market Engagement Event for Commissioning of Victim Support Services on Thursday 22 May at 1:30pm at West Mercia Police HQ.

Organisations interested in participating will be invited to meet with key stakeholders, feed into the outline service specifications, followed by an opportunity for informal discussion and questions.

Commissioner’s Community Fund (CCF)

The PCC wants to ensure that divisional commanders have access to resources to support initiatives contributing towards the delivery of the West Mercia Safer Communities Plan.

This fund is open from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. Local Superintendents have a small amount of grant funding for community projects. To find out more please read the policy and procedures and complete the application form.

Road Safety

The PCC is committed to improving road safety as too many people are dying or being seriously injured on our roads. Whilst the PCC acknowledges the extensive work West Mercia Police do around enforcement and raising awareness to change driver attitude, road safety will continue to be a high priority.

Commissioner’s Community Fund (CCF) Road Safety

Local Policing Commanders have access to resources to support local road safety initiatives contributing towards the delivery of the West Mercia Safer Communities Plan.

Funding is available to each local policing area (LPA) from the 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026 for localised road safety projects. To find out more please read the Policy and Procedure  and complete the Application form

Acquisitive Crime

We Don’t Buy Crime – Leading from the Front

As part of the PCC’s commitment to build a safer West Mercia the commissioner works with councillors across the four local authorities to help prevent burglary.

The ‘We Don’t Buy Crime’ project has been designed to reduce acquisitive crime. Crime deterrent ‘Smartwater’ is part of this offer. 

There have been more than 91,000 ‘Smartwater’ packs registered and 182 completed areas.

The funding is open from 01st April 2024 to 31st March 2025.
