Communities given the chance to put their questions to the PCC and West Mercia Police Superintendents
With Covid-19 forcing the cancellation of many summer events, Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion is giving West Mercia residents the chance to engage virtually with him, and local policing Superintendents, in a series of live question and answer sessions.
A key part of the Commissioner’s commitment to communities is to ensure he and West Mercia Police are engaged with local areas and are visible and accessible. To ensure this commitment continues during the current pandemic the PCC will be giving communities a platform to ask their questions to him and their local policing superintendent through five summer safety Q&A sessions.
Each session will be broadcast live on the PCC’s Facebook page, where live questions can also be left and may be included in the session.:
- 24th June 5pm – Telford & Wrekin Superintendent Baker
- 25th June 5pm – Shropshire Superintendent Lansdale
- 29th June 5pm – North Worcestershire Superintendent Colquhoun
- 30th June 5pm – Herefordshire Superintendent Thomas
- 2nd July 5pm – South Worcestershire Superintendent Brighton
Members of the public are invited to ask any questions about policing, particularly around key summer safety topics such as water safety, fraud, burglary, rural crime and road safety by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or through the PCC’s Facebook page, and highlighting the area they live.
Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion said: “We are living through extraordinary times with Covid-19, many summer events I would be attending this year, allowing me to engage with communities, have sadly been cancelled. The views of our communities are vital in shaping local policing and I want to ensure communities still have the opportunity to engage with me and West Mercia Police, and they have a platform to raise their concerns. While digital sessions are no substitute for face to face events, they are a great, safe alternative that allow communities to get involved and ask the questions that matter to them.”
The deadline for pre submitted questions is 12pm, midday on the day of each event
