Communities across West Mercia are invited to shape local policing and priorities through the PCC’s annual survey.

The annual Town and Parish Council survey gives councils from Shropshire, Herefordshire, Telford & Wrekin and Worcestershire the opportunity to share their feedback and views on key areas such as police visibility and accessibility.

Last year, councils highlighted that West Mercia Police worked well alongside them to identify and address local crime and disorder, however they felt more could be done to tackle road safety and rural crime.

Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion said: “As Commissioner, I want to ensure communities have the opportunities and they are given the platforms to raise the issues that matter to them, this survey is just one of a number of ways I do this.

“The opinions and feedback provided last year helped to show where improvements needed to be made. I have put extra investment into roads policing as well as a variety of road safety initiatives and introduced a dedicated rural focus campaign.

“I am looking forward to listening to the views of our Town and Parish Councils this year to see what’s working well, and acting where changes need to made in order to consistently deliver the efficient and effective police service all communities deserve.”

Links to the survey are being circulated to councils by email, and via Associations of Local Councils with a closing date of 9th October 2020.
