PCC John Campion fully supports the government’s Equipment Theft (Prevention) Bill. This bill will seek to prevent the theft and resale of equipment and tools used by tradespeople and farmers.

“I hear regularly from hard-working people in our rural communities about the blight of equipment and tool theft. I welcome the government’s measures to clamp down on a devastating crime that causes so much pain and ruins livelihoods.

“As PCC, I am committed to building safer, more secure rural communities. To combat the increase in rural crime, I fund five Rural and Business Crime Officers who work across the three counties. I am also investing in the rollout of free SmartWater kits to deter criminals by making properties safer.”
