PCC John Campion has welcomed the Government’s announcement to ‘Level Up’ areas across the country, including West Mercia, with a cash injection of £2.1 billion.

In North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove will benefit from more than £14.9 million to spark transformational change following successful Round 2 bids to the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.

In Bromsgrove, the investment will be used for projects such as the redevelopment of the former Market Hall to help Bromsgrove town centre recover from the pandemic.

PCC John Campion said: “I am delighted to see the Government continuing to deliver on its commitment to Level Up. More than £60million will be coming to West Mercia to breathe new life into our local communities by boosting a range of regeneration and cultural projects.

“As set out in my Safer West Mercia Plan, I am committed to building safer communities. An important element of these projects is making sure they are places where you are safe and feel safe. I look forward to working closely with the local authority, partners and West Mercia Police to deliver on this.”
