West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion has welcomed an announcement from Home Office of funding to boost the number of detectives.

Commissioner John Campion said “Having skilled individuals in these posts and bolstering the numbers is vitally important, not only in terms of ensuring our communities get a thorough and effective service, but ensuring that frontline posts are also protected. Whilst we are fortunate locally, not to have significant gaps in this area, I am reassured by West Mercia Police’s continual work to assess demand and ensure resources are matched. I made a commitment to delivering safer, more secure communities, and welcome the Home Office’s announcement, which provides further resources to support this.”
