Anti-social behaviour in Pershore has fallen by more than a quarter (28%) since 2023, according to the latest crime statistics.
There has also been a significant drop in overall crime – 12% – double the West Mercia average.
In May 2023, Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion hosted a Community Conversation in the town. At the event he heard from more than 60 residents who were unhappy with the service they were receiving and wanted to see change.
Delivering on his promise to listen to calls and act on them, the PCC met regularly with the Chief Constable to support and challenge on progress as well as running two bespoke surveys which helped West Mercia Police to understand the views of all communities in Pershore.
Returning six months later, communities were starting to feel improvements but it’s clear there was more to do. Work continued and the latest crime data for 2025 shows a bright picture.
PCC John Campion said: “In 2023, I heard loud and clear from communities who felt they were not receiving the quality service they expected and deserved.
“The drops in anti-social behaviour and crime are significant and reflect safer streets, stronger policing and a community that feels heard. However, I know this is not job done – there’s more to do.
“Whilst it’s vital the system is set up to enable hardworking police officers to succeed, it’s ultimately down to those on the thin blue line to make it happen. The results are testament to that revived focus, and I know the public share my support for the work of the policing team in Pershore.”
Safer Neighbourhood Inspector for Wychavon Dave Wise said: “We’ve worked hard to deliver on our Policing Charter commitments to be visible, accessible, and focused on the issues that matter most to people in Pershore.
“These reductions in crime and antisocial behaviour are the result of sustained problem-solving work, carried out by a wide range of policing teams – some highly visible, others working behind the scenes.
“These outcomes also reflect the strength of our partnerships with local organisations through the South Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership.
“We will continue to listen to the people of Pershore and the wider Wychavon district to deliver the best policing service we can.”
