It is a key element of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s role to hold the Chief Constable to account on behalf of local communities.
The PCC’s Holding to Account meetings have included a series of thematic meetings, public Facebook Live events where members of the public can submit questions and ‘virtual’ holding to account meetings. The virtual meetings enable the PCC to challenge the Chief Constable outside of the agreed meeting dates.
